Apr 08 E-POP No. 151 - Fahrenheit's School Days

Q: Which was your most memorable vacation during your school days?

C: Umm...it's probably the time where I went to Japan with my family! Because that was the 1st time, so everything feels new and interesting, the food was great, it was a lot of fun!

J: During senior high school, I once went on top of Yang Ming Shan to look at snow with my classmates, unexpectedly we got stuck on the road for 6 hours! In the end once we got up on the top of the mountain it was already dark~ Such a pity! (Poor Jiro~)

W: When there was a term break of 10 days during my varsity days, I flew to England to look for my Dad. This was because my sister was studying there and we had an enjoyable time touring Europe.

A: During senior high school, I once flew to Korea with 6-7 classmates for self-vacation! Visited Dong Da Men, etc. tourist sites, also ate super huge pieces of Korean BBQ beef...so until now the taste of grilled meat is still very unforgetable! (A Bu, you're drooling from your mouth~)

Q: Do you still remember how you felt about school re-opening after term break?

C: Because of having to face a new start, usually I would slowly recollect my calmness 1 week before school starts...also a time to start catching up on homework! When it comes to mood, there's a bit feeling of unwillingness to go back to school, still wanting to be on holiday!

J: I will be very happy, because I could soon see my classmates and good friends! On the other hand because during the holiday I've been sleeping very late, so I always end up missing my beloved breakfast. Once school starts, the time of going to classes are re-adjusted. Then I would be able to eat my favorite hambuger, sandwich and grilled pancake and deep-fried donut daily in the morning!

W: Because I studied in Australia, I would feel sad about leaving Brunei and my family. However, I am also slightly excited about getting new books for the term. I can't wait to find out the new things I'm gonna learn for the new year!

A: Before school starts I was pretty happy~ Just thinking of going back to school and being able to hang out with classmates...super happy!

Q: Which is your most unforgettable homework?

C: During summer holiday in childhood we had to complete a whole booklet of homework, sometimes we had to write journals each day~ Each time I always slack-off till the last week before school starts to catch up, so I often cannot remember what I did in the past, so I don't know what to write in my journal!

J: During senior high in Fu Hsin Arts & Trades, one of the homwork assignment was to make a lamp shade. That time the teacher allowed everyone to freely express their creativity, we could make moving-animation lamp, color-change lamp...etc., could be anything! That time everyone one of us thought really hard to come up with good ideas, the point was to compete with each other to see who's lamp was the coolest! ^_^

W: It was during my varsity days when I had to present my report in front of the class. I was very shy back then and I dare not speak up in front of an audience. Moreover, I had to speak in English, I was in fright and my lips were shivering! My classmates can't help but laughed at me secretly.

A: The most memorable was before holiday ends during one year, because it was too late to finish all the homework, in the end my own family was helping me to catch up on my homework! Haha~ (A Bu, you're unbelievable!)

Q: If you are a teacher, what kind of holiday homework will you give your students?

C: Nowadays, students are too busy daily with their homework, and not have the chance to go outdoors, so I hope that students would take the time during the holiday to go out and walk around, to enjoy nature!

J: If I was the Arts teacher, I would ask the students to create a light and simple bicycle, and they must design and create each part with their own hands! The design must be light and unique, and must have double seating! (Why must it have double seating? What twisted mind do you have Jiro?!)

W: Since it's the holidays, I'll give them something easy! I hope my students will observe cafes, shops or companies etc, research and discuss on the management principles applied by the successful case studies.

A: It's holiday~ Of course there must be play, homework can be put aside first! (That's great! Teacher A Bu, you are so considerate!)

Q: Talk about your rebellious behaviour during school days

C: During junior high, senior high years, I was quite rebellious! That time I like to play, also very childish, often skip classes to go out to play, or I would hide at home to sleep and not go to classes.

J: I am ok~ Not really rebellious, at most during school at Fu Hsin Arts & Trades, I would drag things until 1 week before the assignment was due to catch up!

W: When I was 12 or 13, I would play truant to engage in sports or eat. At that time, Hong Kong dim sum was very popular in Brunei, so we will sneak out of school to eat. Once, the teachers were having a meeting, we playfully unplugged the meeting room's power source, and as a result we were blackmarked! (Wow! Never would have thought that A Zun Zun is so naughty!)
